Sign your Life Over to Facebook

I’ve been on facebook for about the past 8 months or so and it’s a great little tool but I cannot help to think that people new to the site don’t want to sign their life over. This bags the question “How much information should I put on Facebook about myself?” The question is about as individual as the people who use Facebook. The more liberal people add all the information in the free world to the site and more conservative people have trouble adding their birthday to their profile.
By the nature of a social network, it wants to learn about you but to what degree? I mean you don’t leave all the windows open in your house when you go to bed hoping that no one looks in. Just a little food for thought.
