Braids by Breslin - Cross Promotion Project
September 10, 2006 – 8:21 amWe recently created a module for Braids by Breslin that helped them sell an ebook to their customers. The site itself uses a shopping cart known as EcommerceTemplates. The architecture was a bit bulky and because it is not a cart built using the standards of OOP (Object Oriented Programming) it took longer to complete this project.
Before…
As you can see before it was developed as an “upsell” feature on the site, the space below the shopping cart contents area was just taking up valuable space. You couldn’t load a product into that area and it wasn’t enabled to sell an “upsell” product.
After…
After completing the upsell feature you can see the area below the shopping cart contents area is now using that valuable space to offer a special deal to its customers. This in turn should increase revenues for the owner of the site allowing him to run promotional specials and boost sales through upselling.
Conclusion…
By utilizing the white space below the shopping cart contents area, CommerceCubes was able to help the client in his goal to increase revenue from his online business and further monetize the site’s features to meet specific business goals set out by the site owner.
Afterword…
If you aren’t sure which shopping cart solution is going to fit best then feel free to contact me. We’ve worked with a wide variety and array of carts. If you’ve already got a site up running a pre-built cart (osCommerce, X-Cart, or any of a number of others) but it doesn’t have a feature you are looking for we can always develop a custom solution for your business needs.
