Wireless POS systems – Profits in the Sky!
August 18, 2006 – 6:56 pm
Many retailers lately seem to be opting for “WiFi” or “Wireless” POS systems these days because of the advantages in operability and the ability to in a sense do business anywhere. In case you aren’t sure exactly what a POS system does or means well in the simplest terms, POS stands for Point Of Sale. The point is that a system like these is going to run your brick and mortar business much more effectively then an outdated and wired POS system.
Excerpt from Wikipedia.com…
Wireless point of sale (wireless POS or WPOS) is the use of wireless devices to facilitate payment for products or services. As a rule, a wireless point of sale system consists of a base station directly connected to a central server computer and one or more handheld devices (PDAs) that communicate wirelessly.
WPOS can streamline many processes and may include the ability to consummate sales, record and track customer orders, connect to other systems in a network, and manage inventory.
By enabling a vendor to make a transaction or adjust it anywhere within range of the wireless network, WPOS can ensure seamless delivery of the desired product or service.

I am looking to focus CommerceCubes to start helping brick and mortar type businesses make the transition to new ways of doing business with WIFI within the next year. I talk about a lot of topics on here but my focus is commerce systems and the technology that surrounds them.
By “commerce systems” I mean to say business systems, whether or not it’s the payment gateway itself, an e-commerce system, or a marketing/advertising system. With so many choices of software, payment options, affiliate programs, advertising systems like Adwords, Adbrite, etc. it can be confusing to small business owners and entrepreneurs alike. I just try to make it as simple as possible for all you out there looking for information and I am always looking for suggestions. I am just one guy and can only write about so much.
